MUMBAI: There were strong reports that Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in the Indian version of Citadel which will be created by Raj & DK. Earlier this year, on Varun’s birthday, Raj & DK had wished him with a picture in which even Samantha was there and hinted that the team is gearing up for an action-packed series.
An international version of Citadel is already in the making and it stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead roles. Famous Hollywood directors Russo Brothers have created the series, and they took to Instagram to announce the Indian installment of Citadel.

They posted, “We are thrilled to officially announce that we will be bringing you the Indian installment of the Citadel universe. The local Original spy series will start filming in January 2023. @rajanddk @d2r_films @agbofilms @primevideo @primevideoin @amazonstudios @mensit @varundvn.”
While of course Varun’s fans are excited for the web series, one thing that has grabbed the attention is that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not mentioned in any of the social media posts done by the makers or Varun. They have also not tagged her, and this makes everyone wonder whether she is not a part of the web series anymore. A fan tweeted, “Sam is also joining shoot or not, you didn't mention her!”

Samantha earlier worked with Raj & DK in the second season of The Family Man, and her performance in it was appreciated a lot. The actress’ fans were eagerly waiting to watch her with Varun in Citadel. But, now only makers can tell us whether Samantha is part of the series or not.
