MUMBAI: Swastika Mukherjee, daughter of actor Santu Mukhopadhyay, began her acting career with appearances in Bengali and Hindi films and television. Her debut in the TV series "Devdasi" and the film "Hemanter Pakhi" marked the beginning of her journey in the entertainment industry.
While Swastika worked in various Bollywood and Bengali projects, her breakthrough came with her portrayal of Dolly Mehra in the web series "Paatal Lok." Her performance garnered widespread acclaim, propelling her to national fame and establishing her as a prominent figure in the world of OTT content.

In addition to her marital struggles, Swastika faced controversy when she was accused of shoplifting during a film festival in Singapore in 2014. Reports surfaced that she was caught trying to conceal a gold earring worth $255 in her handbag at a jewellery showroom. While Swastika claimed to have purchased the jewellery and had receipts, she was unable to provide proof of purchase. Although she denied intentionally shoplifting, the incident garnered significant media attention and scrutiny.
Despite these controversies, Swastika Mukherjee continues to thrive in her acting career, with her performances on OTT platforms earning her widespread acclaim and recognition.
