MUMBAI: Amid the ongoing spat between Uorfi Javed and Apoora Mukhija on The Traitors, Uorfi's sister Asfi Javed recently penned a hard-hitting note, lashing out at the latter and her fans. She stated that Uorfi faced immense trolling and mentioned that Apoorva is 'milking' the show and its situations for fame and PR.
Taking to her social media, Asfi Javed wrote, "Today is a day Uorfi has gone through huge trolling, hate and abuses on the internet, this is nothing new for her but today it has hit differently. If anyone truly knows Uorfi, it's us - her family. We've seen her survive storms most can't even imagine. She has lived on the streets, worked tirelessly to earn her living and support her family. Anyone who has actually worked with her, her friends and family will vouch for her heart. It's deeply disheartening to see how easily narratives can be twisted. That's not the whole story - and it never will be."
Further defending Uorfi, she continued, "Uorfi stood for herself against disrespect, what she said was a reaction to an action, yes the words weren't right but deliberately breaking someone's morale and bullying on internet for clout or convenience isn't cool. Anyway it's a bad day but hoping for a better tomorrow for all."
Along with the post, she also captioned, "We are all for drama, kalesh and tiffs in reality shows. It’s fun to watch and it’s a treat for audiences. It’s only human when so many different individuals play a game and work towards one prize. But reality shows ke situations ko kitna milk karna hain for fame and PR and to what extend can be a choice one can make."
She concluded, "We are so not supporting online bullying and harassment just because someone has huge audiences for their Storytime doesn’t necessarily make it entirely a true story. It’s just not cool and never will be!"
For the unversed, Apoorva Mukhija claimed in her online segment that during the shoot of The Traitors, Uorfi shouted and insulted her in front of the cast. Responding to this, Uorfi clarified her stance and mentioned that Apoorva abused her first when she went to console her during a vulnerable moment, and that's when Uorfi stood against disrespect. "She is painting me into this villain that I am not," shared Uorfi in her video on Monday.
