Here’s a look at all the stars who made an OTT splash:
1. Amruta Subhash in Dhamaka and Bombay Begums
Amruta as the headstrong Media Producer in Dhamaka is the character that you hate but can’t help love as well. With powerful roles in Dhamaka and 'Bombay Begums', Amruta Subhash has made consistent appearances in the OTT space with unforgettable characters. No matter her role, she makes sure to leave a lasting impression.
2. Samantha Ruth Prabhu in The Family Man Season 2
Possibly one of the most surprising performances this year, Samantha Ruth Prabhu took the audiences by storm as Rajalakshmi Sekharan AKA Raji. Her fierce avatar was loved by many even though it created controversy and was trolled a lot but it’s her passion for acting and her dedication towards this role that has made all the difference in the world.
3. Pawan Malhotra in Tabbar
Pawan Malhotra is Omkar, a petty entrepreneur and patriarch with a wife and two sons living in the bustle of Jalandhar. They experience a distressing and horrific decline one night, which can only end one way. Mother India has been reversed in Malhotra's character. The stereotypical roles played by Pawan Malhotra and Supriya Pathak (strong, obstinate father, frail, devoted mother) have nuances that are hard to pinpoint.
4. Gajraj Rao in Ray
Gajraj Rao also had us chuckling with his fine performance in Ray's Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, giving Manoj Bajpayee company. Their short is among the best of the Ray anthology thanks to the senior actor, who rarely falls flat on his notes.
5. Mohit Raina in Mumbai Diaries 26/11
Taking Mumbai Diaries 26/11 to the next level consisted of great actors coming together. Lead actor Mohit Raina portrayed Trauma surgeon Kaushik Oberoi at the Bombay General Hospital. Raina outdid himself with a riveting performance that shone brightly in its own light.
Well, we were glad for this actor and these shows and we wish to see more great performances in 2022.
