The convertible saree which features two armholes can also be worn as a notch-collared top with cowl back. This newest way of wearing the saree is also the easiest, fastest, and most comfortable way of draping a saree.

Purushu Arie’s latest functional upgrade involves two armholes that interact with the body where the wearer can simply slip in their arm. This saree not only converts into a notch-collared top but one no longer has to worry about pinning the saree to a blouse or the saree falling off.

“The convertible saree was first created as part of my graduate design collection at NIFT New Delhi. At my graduation show, the audience broke into spontaneous applause in the middle of the show when the saree was transformed into a top on the ramp. That thrill from backstage is a moment I carried on and I developed the style further. As a designer, it’s my job to offer simplified solutions for real life. Not every Indian knows how to drape a saree – but that statement won’t apply any longer,” says Purushu Arie
