MUMBAI: Gong Yoo is all ready to make his special appearance in the next star-studded film titled 'Wonderland'. The film revolves around Wonderland which gives services to people to unite with their ex via AI video calls. Apart from Gong Yoo, the cast also has stars like Tang Wei, Suzy, Park Bo Gum, Jung Yu Mi, and Choi Woo Shik, reportedly according to an ETimes report, director Kim Tae Yong was inspired by Gong Yoo and that is how the character of AI Sung Joon came into existence.
Gong Yoo's fans have been on cloud nine after they came to know that he would be seen in 'Wonderland'. He has given exceptional performances in 'Train to Busan', 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God', and 'Squid Game'. Fans of Gong Yoo are all things excited for his cameo appearance. Sung Joon then will see the emotional development progress of AI Bai Li, which is being essayed by Tang Wei, who will be shown as an archaeologist who is being made by Wonderland service.
Talking about Gong Yoo's role director Kim Tae Yong told Soompi, "Since he is an AI character that carries out the task of managing the AI within Wonderland while also being a friend, he needed to be both cool yet warm, and there was no other actor like Gong Yoo [for the role]. He is warmhearted and thoughtful, and he is an actor with romantic tension”, as quoted by Soompi". 'Wonderland' will be released theatrically on June 5.
