5 times The Jungle Book sent us into nostalgic mode

If you’ve grown up singing ‘Chaddi Pehenke Phool Khila Hai’, you’ve had a happy childhood! Yes, those innocent times when we were mesmerised by cartoons and characters is back! With The Jungle Book flooding the theatres, we take you on a trip down the memory lane. We take a look at the five instances from the 2016 flick that put us in nostalgia mode…read on:

The characters:
Our Sundays were incomplete without the much-needed dose of Bagheera, Baloo, Mowgli and Sher Khan. The characters are a part of our childhood and would forever remain so. Moreover, they are a throwback to our carefree, enjoyable days and long summer vacations. Sigh.

Mowgli's fighting spirit:

When Sher Khan ambushes Mowgli and Bagheera, the former fights tooth and nail to protect himself. He’s not just physically strong, but also mentally sound. We all wanted to imbibe this trait while growing up, isn’t it? Salute to the makers for keeping the ‘never say never’ sprit of Mowgli alive.

His bond with Bagheera and Baloo:
Even though Mowgli is a boy and not an animal, his bond with Bagheera and Baloo is strong. They stick together and fight against the baddies without bothering about their own safety. To them, their friends are everything. There’s a poignant scene in the movie where Bagheera is guiding Mowgli toward mankind, but gets beaten up. The anger in Mowgli’s eyes summarises everything.

The song:

Well, how can we not include the song ‘Jungle Jungle Pata Chala’? You’d automatically get Goosebumps when you hear the song during the end credits. The power of those words is such that it can transport you back to your living room when you were a five-year-old.

The feel of jungle:
The special effects are superb because you feel like you’re sitting in the jungle, right with Mowgli and his gang. The lush green trees, the chirping of the birds, the majestic animals walking around and the jumping around of the trio make you want to hang out with them.

If you’ve haven’t watched the movie already, do your childhood times a favour…and walk into the nearest cinema hall for a dekko.
