#InternationalWomensDay: Bollywood actresses who have made us proud this year

It’s an incredible feat being a women. From multi-tasking to battling PMS days to proving their worth at every turn, women are an inspiration. Even Bollywood has many badass actresses who have gone against the system…we take a look at a few of them.

Read on...

Priyanka Chopra:

She is a true global icon, who’s making India proud at every stage. From rocking a lead role in an American project to looking ravishing at the red carpet, PeeCee is making us incredibly proud. Salute.

Deepika Padukone:

From bagging every award on her home turf to going international in an important role, Deepu has shown us what dreams can do. Apart from her professional commitments, the actress has also been an inspiration on the personal front. She came out openly about her depression, her break-up and other intimate stuff. That’s really brave of her, isn’t it?

Kangana Ranaut:

When she rejected a lucrative fairness cream deal, she made a permanent mark in our hearts. Her integrity, coupled with her feisty nature makes Kangs a true star…and someone we all look up to.

Preity Zinta:

When most women are pressurised into marriage before they can realise their dreams, here is one actress who married late. Only when she had found the love of her life. Isn’t that commendable? It sure is! Take a bow, Mrs Zinta-Goodenough.

Urmila Matondkar:

Just like PZ, Urmila married late too. She dated her now-husband for a couple of years before tying the knot in a private ceremony. Because bowing down to conventions has never been the sassy actress’ style.

Sonam Kapoor:

She took up an author-backed role and made Neerja the heroine of the movie. Instead of showing off her star power, she resorted to being an actor and made sure that the slain airhostess was given her due credit.

Here's wishing every woman a Happy Women's Day. Cheers to equality!
