Why Katti Batti seems like the perfect Friday fix

Every Bollywood movie these days screams ‘I am different’. But truth be told, they are pretty much the same wine in shinier bottles. Don't lose hope though as we have a feeling that this Friday’s much-anticipated release, Katti Batti, is going to live up to its quirky title. Let us tell you why this movie looks promising…read on:

Kangna Ranaut. Enough said:

Do you really need another reason? Kangna is on a roll post her back-to-back hits and there’s really no stopping her. She looks kickass in the trailers, doesn’t she? Her feisty avatar, quick wit, colourful clothes and spunky chemistry with Imran Khan can take the movie to an all new height. We have our fingers firmly crossed.

Unconventional love story:

While most love sagas begin with the chase and end up with the two moving-in together, this Nikhil Advani flick is rather unconventional. Because it’s exploring the matters of the heart from reverse. The couple moves-in together first, followed by a rather chilling break up, which leads to the hero’s epic chase for his true love. Will the two, with so much history between them, get together at the end? Phew! We are dying to know. In fact, Imran has been calling the movie a slice of life as it explores what goes on in real relationships…

Mismatched couple:

The refreshing pairing of Kangna-Imran is making us rather hopeful. While how their chemistry fares on the big screen remains to be seen, they do look cute together (as far as we can tell!) Kangna’s spunk is offset by Imran’s seriousness. Her eccentricity makes up for his shyness. Although we would like to see Imran trade places with Kangs, we are okay with this arrangement too. What say you, fans?

Hatke songs:

Unlike the usual serving of masala numbers, Katti Batti offers a variety of songs that range from romantic, funny to heartbreakingly sad. Each song depicts the actor’s state of mind. It’s also a huge plus that the songs don’t stick out like a sore thumb. Cinematographer Tushar Kapoor captures the locales so beautifully that you fall in love with the scenes immediately. Add to it Shankar, Ehsan and Loy’s melodious music and you’ve a winner!
