53-year old Rati Agnihotri rides a bike to the surprise of all

Rati Agnihotri, who was last seen riding a motorcycle in the 1983-made Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Coolie when she was just 23, will be yet again seen riding a bike in Dehradun Diary that is set to hit the silver screen in the last week of November. The film is directed by Milind Ukey who had earlier directed the Shahid Kapoor starrer Paathshaala. Describing how the 53-year old actress took her shot, the director briefed, “We had informed Ratiji that a body double will be used as we did not want to take any risk with her riding. Much to our surprise, she said that she would like to ride the bike herself and there was no need for a body double.” The sequence required the senior actress to ride the bike with her son sitting behind her. “When the shot was called, the entire unit was surprised to see how comfortably Ratiji was driving the bike. Rohit who plays her son, was immensely surprised too as the Ek Duje Ke Liye actress rode the bike like an expert,” “For Ratiji, this scene was exciting for after a long gap she was again riding a bike and she was thrilled about the same.” Commented producer Anita Nandwani, “Everybody has become a fan of Ratiji. She is a great actor and highly professional person as well.” Senior action director Mahendra Verma who was the action director of Coolie was also present on the sets to overlook and support Rati doing the bike sequence.
