Meghan Markle's half-sister addresses 'Cashing In' rumours

Samantha Grant, the older sibling of the Duchess of Sussex, addressed mounting claims that she has financially benefited from her connection to the royal family in her interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain.

The sibling was appearing on the show in an effort to bridge the gap between Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle, whom Samantha claims has not spoken to Meghan in months.

Grant spoke about being a part of the media and broadcasting industry, and how making money out of sharing memories isn’t "cashing in", reports suggest so.

"I worked in media most of my life and in broadcasting, so because my sister is suddenly royal isn't grounds for me to stop doing all of that," said Grant.

"Let's face it -we all have to survive. Money makes the world go round, so if you want to call that cashing in, that's fine, but I think no one in media would refuse a paycheck for talking about the royal and, as a family, we're not subject to royal protocol," she added.

Samantha concluded, "For someone to say, 'Oh you shouldn't take any money. You should turn down a paycheck,' well go tell your boss you don't want a paycheck for interviewing me because that's cashing in."

Meghan, 36, got married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex on 19 May.

Paul McCartney recreates Beatles Album ‘Art of crossing Abbey Road’

Ahead of the 49th anniversary of the release of Abbey Road, the Beatles legend Paul McCartney and his daughter Mary recreated its album cover in front of crowds of fans.

Dressed in a white shirt, burgundy pants and sandals, McCartney crossed the street outside of Abbey Road Studios to the delight of die-hard Beatles fans, as per media reports.

"Why did the Beatle cross the Abbey Road," Mary hilariously captioned videos of her famous father taking a stroll.

While on Instagram Story, McCartney took fan questions, including one inquiry about why he wasn't wearing any shoes for the original cover art, which came out on 8 August, 1969.

"It was a very hot day and I happened to be wearing sandals like I am today so I just kicked them off because it was so hot we went across barefoot. There was no special meaning," he clarified.

The special visit to Abbey Road Studios was not only for the famous crosswalk but to also play four new songs from his upcoming Egypt Station album as part of a secret show.

Also in attendance were McCartney's daughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney and actress Liv Tyler.

He was in treatment for a $100,000-per-month OxyContin habit. The Forbes had named him in the list of Richest People in Cryptocurrency.

Christopher Robin is very relevant today: Director

Director Marc Forster says the upcoming live action Christopher Robin narrates a very relevant story.

"I think it's something we desperately need in the world," Forster said in a statement to an online media portal.

"We could all use a little bit of Pooh's heart and wisdom right now," he added.

Disney's Christopher Robin brings the timeless charm of A.A. Milne's stories and characters to the big screen.

The heartwarming live action film narrates the story of a young boy who embarks on a journey full of adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals. In the film, he has grown up and lost his way.

It stars Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael and Mark Gatiss.

The film also features the voices of Jim Cummings, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones, Nick Mohammed, Peter Capaldi and Sophie Okonedo.

Talking about directing the film, Forster said, "When you are able to make people laugh and cry in the same movie and you are able to tell the story with integrity and ground it in reality and have the magic realism on top of it, it lifts your spirits and connects you with the people you love."

Christopher Robin will release in India on 10 August.

‘The Spy Who Dumped Me' not another 'friendship movie'

David Iserson, co-writer of The Spy Who Dumped Me, says the film's team made a very specific choice that this wouldn't be like other friendship films.

The Lionsgate Films' movie is an action thriller, starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon in comical roles.

It centers around two best friends, Audrey and Morgan, who have been trapped in a spy adventure and the only way out is the way through it. Apart from being an action-packed venture, it also focuses on the true friendship between the two main female characters.

"We made a very specific choice in this movie...that this wouldn't be like other friendship movies where at some point they fight and at some point they're separated. We wanted these characters to love each other throughout," Iserson said in a statement to a media portal.

Audrey and Morgan are just like any two best friends with different personalities. They have shared feelings, goals, dreams, and at some point even their lives seem to be glued together.

While Audrey is nervous and self-conscious at all times in life, Morgan is just her opposite. She is a struggling actress, who views life as one giant audition, takes extensive risks.

Kunis and McKinnon had something similar in their mind when they first started out with the shooting of The Spy Who Dumped Me.

"It would be like Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt had a baby with 'I Love Lucy'. Kate and I are like Ethel and Lucy," said Kunis.

Actress Gillian Anderson, who is also a part of the film, said, "I was really struck by how much Kate and Mila seem like they've actually known each other for a long time. And the way that they interact on and off camera, they're so clearly comfortable with each other."

‘A Star Is Born' to world premiere at Venice Film Festival

Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star Is Born, starring himself and Lady Gaga, is to have its world premiere at the 75th Venice Film Festival.

The festival announced the 31 August debut screening on Monday, after it had been rumoured for days, as per media reports. Warner Bros.' new take on the classic tale that first hit the silver screen 81 years ago is scheduled for release in theaters in the U.S. in October.

The film will play out of competition at Venice, which is steadily gaining in prestige as an awards launching pad for Hollywood product. Another crowd-pleasing musically themed movie, La La Land, as well as Gravity, Spotlight, and The Shape of Water, all launched from the Lido.

The hotly anticipated A Star Is Born finds four-time Oscar nominee Cooper ("American Hustle," "Silver Linings Playbook") directing for the first time, and acting and singing as musician Jackson Maine, alongside Gaga, who plays struggling artist Ally. With Maine's encouragement, Ally's career ramps up, but their relationship suffers.

The new take on the story features tracks written by Cooper and Gaga together and in collaboration with musicians such as Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. Also appearing in the film are Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chappelle and Sam Elliott.

The festival runs from 29 August to 8 September.

'The Favourite' to open New York Film Festival

Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite, a historical drama set during the reign of Queen Anne, will kick off the 56th New York Film Festival.

The Fox Searchlight title will make its New York debut and is already expected to screen in Venice.

The Favourite follows the court wranglings of Sarah Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough ( played by Rachel Weisz) and her servant Abigail Hill ( played by Emma Stone) as they jockey for position with Queen Anne ( played by Olivia Colman).

The film will screen at Alice Tully Hall on 28 September. It opens in theaters on 23 November, and will likely factor into the Oscar race, reports say so.

The New York Film Festival is presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The lineup for the annual celebration of cinema is beginning to take shape. Last week, the festival announced that Alfonso Cuaron's family drama Roma has been set as the Centerpiece movie and will screen on 5 October.

Last year, the New York Film Festival kicked off with Last Flag Flying, a Richard Linklater dramedy that came-and-went without making much of a stir, and in 2015, the festival opened with The Walk, a huge Robert Zemeckis bomb.

76th Golden Globe Awards on 6 Jan, 2019

The 76th Golden Globe Awards will be presented at a ceremony on 6 January, 2019.

Key dates for the run-up to the annual Golden Globes ceremony were unveiled on Monday by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, but TV rights of the gala are still being sorted out, according to a media portal.

Nominations for the awards will be announced on 6 December, the organisation said.

For the past 25 years, since 1993, the Golden Globes have aired on NBC. In April, however, the network's renegotiation window closed without a deal extension.

Negotiations for TV rights have been on and off in 2018, but a return to NBC is now expected. However, no network was attached as the HFPA unveiled the timetable for the 2019 honours.

Cardi B's daughter melts her like butter

Rapper Cardi B says her daughter Kulture melts her heart.

Cardi B, 25, took to Twitter to share her experience with motherhood, reports a media portal.

"Kulture is not Kulture today, she Kiari with the mood. But oh man I love my sweet sweet baby. She melts me like butter," she wrote.

The rapper also celebrated the return of her husband Offset following his arrest in Georgia.

Cardi B shared a boomerang video on Instagram, featuring Offset after his home return.

She captioned the video, "Home."

Offset was arrested for illegal gun possession.

The couple welcomed their daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus earlier this month.

When Louis Tomlinson was mistaken for Olly Murs

Singer and The X Factor judge Louis Tomlinson was left unimpressed when one auditionee mistook him for singer Olly Murs during the first audition round.

The former One Direction star showed two middle fingers after he made the blunder during auditions at The SSE Arena in Wembley, according to some media reports.

It came as the judges gave the aspiring singer a standing ovation after he did a duet of "Angels" with judge Robbie Williams.

An audience member said, "Louis has really taken to his new judging role on The X Factor and has been surprised by the amount of talent on this year's show.

One of the contestants he was really impressed with was one guy who came onstage, confessed his undying love for Robbie and then did a duet of 'Angels' with Robbie.

"But Louis was less than impressed after the audition when the contestant thanked all the judges for giving him a standing ovation -- but called him Olly!

"The audience was in hysterics as Louis straight away gave him two middle fingers and shook his head - it wasn't the best way to finish an audition but it'll make great telly."

Tomlinson made his debut as a judge on The X Factor panel last week alongside Simon Cowell, Williams and Ayda Field.

Henry Cavill loves to play the bad guy

Actor Henry Cavill will be seen as an antagonist in the forthcoming film Mission: Impossible Fallout. He says it was fun to explore darker side of his personality.

"I don't think of it as a risky zone. For me, it was once in a lifetime opportunity to play with other parts of my character," Cavill told an online media portal.

"I try to put a little bit of me in every character I play or at least draw (something) from me. And it was just an opportunity to enter something different, have a different angle to it and cast a different light on me -- that for me is fun," added the actor, popular as Superman from the Man of Steel franchise.

Cavill, who has big superhero films like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League added to his resume, loves telling stories.

"I don't love telling just one kind of a story. I want to tell multitude stories and this gave me an opportunity to do so," he said.

Mission: Impossible Fallout -- a Paramount Pictures movie -- will be distributed in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. It is set to release in India on 27 July in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The Wanted's Tom Parker marries Hardwick

Tom Parker, former band member of The Wanted, has tied the knot with actress Kelsey Hardwick.

Hardwick opted for a plunging white gown as she said her vows with Parker in front of their friends and family in Surrey, mirror.co.uk as per media reports.

However, Parker expressed his disappointment at only two of his former bandmates, Max George and Jay McGuiness, accepting his invitation to be ushers at the ceremony.

In an interview with OK! magazine, the singer said, "It's weird, I emailed all the boys a few months ago and asked them to be ushers. As we've not all been together since 2014, I thought my wedding might have been a nice moment for it.

"Siva (Kaneswaran) and Nathan (Skyes) said they'd like to but they didn't know what they were doing at that time. Then it got closer and I needed their suit sizes," he continued.

"Siva said no and Nathan didn't reply. It is what it is. We all got on in the band, but I was closer to Max and Jay; it was usually us three who went out and got smashed on tour. I'm happy they were there."

But Parker said he's still hopeful the five-piece band will unite and do something for the group's 10 year anniversary next year.

Actors, fans urge Disney's Marvel to rehire James Gunn (This news was there in yesterday’s update)

Guardians of the Galaxy fans, lovers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Hollywood actors have urged Disney's Marvel to rehire James Gunn, who was fired as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after some of his old offensive tweets on pedophilia and rape resurfaced.

Actress Selma Blaire took to Twitter, describing Gunn as the good one, as per media reports.

"If people are punished despite changing, then what does that teach people about owning mistakes and evolving?" she wrote.

Gunn was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 for offensive tweets that he had posted years ago. It was announced that the filmmaker had been let go after a right-wing US site found offensive posts in which he had joked about subjects including paedophilia and rape between 2008 and 2012.

Disney's decision to fire Gunn met with backlash after it was noted that Gunn had previously atoned for the messages leading many to believe the studio was aware of the posts years back.

A change.org petition is also calling upon Disney to rehire Gunn.

The petition partly reads, "If you do this to Gunn you have to do it for all the other directors who have said some crappy joke sometime in their life, which is all of them, cause I doubt there's one human on this planet who hasn't made a shi**y joke once or twice in their life."

As many as over 154,000 signatures have already been garnered by the petition.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista had earlier spoken out in Gunn's defense, saying, "He's made mistakes. We all have. I'm not okay with what's happening to him."

Blair had also previously attributed the director with supporting her in coming forward with her personal experience of sexual harassment in the wake of the Time's Up movement.
