MUMBAI: In a momentous celebration, PVR INOX, India’s largest and most premium cinema exhibition company, proudly announced “Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar”, a special film festival commemorating Aamir Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema. Since the announcement, the festival has left audiences thrilled to witness the journey of one of the most influential actors and filmmakers of his generation.
Amidst the growing excitement, a press conference was held in Mumbai, where legendary screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar and PVR founder Ajay Bijli joined Aamir Khan for an insightful conversation. The three maestros of the entertainment world unveiled the trailer of “Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar”, captivating the audience and further heightening anticipation for this magical tribute. The festival is set to commence on March 14, Aamir Khan’s birthday, and will continue until March 27.
While speaking about Aamir Khan, Javed Akhtar said, "Here are some many Characters. I fear I might forget a few. Aamir was born in 1965, I started in 1965 in Bollywood. Aamir worked in the first film written by me. I was writing the film Faryaaz in Panchgani for Nassir Hussain. He saw Aamir and immediately told Nassir that he is a star and he should start with a romantic film. Aamir’s first film was produced was written by Javed. My son’s first film was with Aamir."
Aamir told Javed Akhtar that he was waiti by for his call post saying no to Farhan for script hearing. When Javed didn’t call, Aamir realised that Farhan must have not spoken to him and he must truly believe in Aamir.
Only Aamir could have believed in these charechter and stories. Aamir did a film with Ashutosh with whom he had a flop before. A new director Farhan came to you with a 3 heroes film and you did it. Who would have done Dangal in their right mind. Role of such an old man who loses to his daughter in kushti. All actors work in films of directors who have given hits. You take chances no other can." Added Javed Akhtar.
