IMDb on Tuesday unveiled the 2018 Top 10 Stars of Indian Cinema list. The list was derived using data from IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which are based on the actual page views of more than 250 million monthly visitors to the platform, read a statement.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan earned the second spot, which was followed by Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kubbra Sait, Irrfan Khan, Radhika Apte and Akshay Kumar.

"Radhika Apte delighted audiences this year, appearing in two of the IMDb Top Indian Movies of 2018 – AndhaDhun (which ranked number 1) and Padman (ranked number 6). Akshay Kumar, the bold protagonist in Padman rounds out the Top Stars list at number 10," she added.

Sunny Leone gets 'disturbed' when 'nonsense' gets highlighted

Adult film star-turned-Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who is often a target of sexist and disparaging remarks by people, says she is disturbed when "nonsense" gets highlighted.

"I always try to push negativity aside, but there are some things which I can't because I am also a human and I have feelings.

"I get disturbed when the media exaggerates and highlights things that they know is nonsense and can hurt people. If radical, violent groups are not given attention then maybe this world would be a better place to live in," Sunny told to leading publication over e-mail.

Despite paving a successful path for herself in Bollywood, Sunny attracts malicious comments from several people, especially on social media. But their wrath and hatred cannot stop Sunny as she knows how to "protect herself". Sometimes, she even has to answer "judgmental as well as misogynistic" questions thrown at her by journalists.

She said, "Each situation is different and I always like to give the journalist the benefit of the doubt; but I have worked up the courage to throw something back at them. I know how to make them equally feel uncomfortable or really bad. So then it stops there usually. I don't know any other way to protect myself than to speak up."

Before making her Bollywood debut with Pooja Bhatt's 2012 thriller Jism 2, Sunny participated in the controversial reality television series Bigg Boss. Later, she featured in movies like Ragini MMS 2, Ek Paheli Leela, Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, Mastizaade and Tera Intezaar.

Earlier this year, she even launched a digital series titled Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone, based on her life.

Was it tough to depict her real life on screen?

"I did not know where to begin on my emotional journey... I had no idea it would affect me this way... I cried every day, wondering if this was the right path I (was) supposed to take.

"I still wonder sometimes, but the positive outcome has been great and that's when I knew it was okay to take this path. And I believe there is more to come."

Apart from films and shows, Sunny recently performed a dance number in Bangladeshi musician Taposh's music video titled Lovely accident, which is produced under her and her husband Daniel Weber's production banner SunCity Media and Entertainment.

Talking about the song, Sunny said, "I am very excited about this song because the music is original and very catchy. Taposh Sir came to us and said he wanted to create a song and have us run production. He really likes the way Daniel does business.

"... At the end of the day, we have no idea how people will react to it but we all worked hard and absolutely no funny business."

Chinese university cancels Aamir Khan event for not seeking prior permission

A Chinese university had reportedly cancelled Bollywood's actor Aamir Khan's fan meet, citing the organiser's failure to seek permission to use the campus.

Khan is currently in China to promote his latest movie Thugs of Hindustan.

The event, which was to take plac eon Monday, in Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (GUFE) in Guangzhou was for the promotion of the movie which is slated to release in China next week.

According to the Chinese media, the school did not know about the promotional event until Monday.

"The message was spread only among a small group of students through social media. The school only knew about it when students talked about the event hours before it was about to take place," the Global Times quoted an employee of the varsity as saying.

However, the Weibo account that promotes Khan's films announced the school had cancelled the event "unilaterally" as the "the students were overly enthusiastic".

The post angered many students, who said the university did not know about the event at all before Monday.

Many students said they waited outside the event site for over an hour.

"It is obviously the organiser's fault for not applying to the school to use an on-campus building," net user Swim Xinzhu, a student from GUFE, said.

"We have held similar events before and there would be no issue if the organiser had reported in advance," an employee of the varsity said.

The organiser's deputy manager, a Beijing-based film-promoting company, reposted the Weibo post by Khan's film account, saying they were contacting the film crew and the school to figure out what caused the poor communication.

The fan meet was soon relocated to a Four Seasons hotel not far from the campus and ended at around 11 p.m. on Monday night.

Actress Radhika Madan, who has bagged the Most Promising Newcomer award, says she feels motivated to work harder to entertain people through her work.

Radhika won the trophy at Star Screen Awards here on Sunday for her debut act in Vishal Bhardwaj's Pataakha.

"I didn't expect it. It just happened. It motivates me to work even harder to entertain more and more people, and give my 200 per cent. I gave my heart and soul to Pataakha," Radhika told to leading publication.

"It didn't do commercially well, but to be acknowledged for that... it speaks a lot," added the actress about the film on two warring sisters.

The Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi actress has also acted in Vasan Bala's film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, which is expected to release next year.

"I never picked those films. I feel that when I plan stuff, it doesn't work for me, but when universe plans it for me, it works the best," said the actress, who has done TV shows as well.

While she had to go for a few rounds of audition to get the role of Badki in Pataakha, the story of how she got Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is slightly different.

"I went to audition for Laila Majnu. Somebody saw me there and asked me 'Can you kick?' I was a dancer before. I did a few kicks," she said.

And soon, she joined the cast of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.

"I am not thinking about the budget of the film that much. I am just waiting for something to come up and excite me. Be it a commercial film or an indie one, anything that makes me want to just jump on my bed and go for it," she said.
