MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan's career took a different turn after watching Dulhania Dilwale Le Jayenge which is still regarded as one of his most important films thirty years later. When asked about "green flags in cinema," veteran actor Imran Khan recently stated that he thought Shah Rukh Khan's Raj in DDLJ was one since he adopts "traditional female roles" and refrains from inciting physical violence.
Speaking on the popular YouTube channel, he revealed, “His portrayal in DDLJ, where, in the second half of the film, he shows up at this girl’s house and he takes on this role that is the traditionally female role… he says I am helping with the shaadi, I’ll take mithai here and I’ll put decorations up over there and even at the end when it comes to physical conflict, he is not fighting the guys.”
Raj goes to Simran's (Kajol) home in the movie in an attempt to win over her family members as she prepares to tie the knot with someone else. Raj works to help around the house to gain the family's acceptance, which pleases her mother and aunt.
Raj is the complete opposite of Simran's fiancé, Kuljeet, who is portrayed as the scenario's alpha male and the red flag who intends to cheat on his future bride. Imran continued, “He is like, I won’t, and the fact that at the end of the film, rather than taking the girl and running off, he says I will win the hearts of this entire family, one by one I will win their hearts. I found that to be refreshing and very moving and exciting when I first saw the film,” he said.
Among the cast of Aditya Chopra's DDLJ were Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Parmeet Sethi, and Mandira Bedi. After his followers began requesting his return on social media, Imran Khan has been speaking with the media for a few months now. His comeback project has not yet been revealed.
