MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is the most eligible bachelor in Bollywood. The actor who is in his 50s is ageing gracefully and still makes females go weak in the knees with his charming personality. Often Salman has been asked about his marriage plans by his friends, family and fans.
Everyone knows that Salman and Sangeeta Bijlani who were head over heels in love had plans to marry, but things did not work in their favor. As per ETimes, actress Sharmin Segal Mehta, who is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece had declined Salman's marriage proposal. Yes, you read that right!
The actress who is currently seen playing an important role in her uncle’s debut OTT show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar recalled the first time she met Salman on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam when she was 2 or 3 years old.
Well, Sharmin revealed that Salman had jokingly asked her, Will you marry me? and she responded with a laugh saying No. Sharmin admitted to having a crush on Salman, especially while watching O O jane jana' from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. The actress said that during her childhood days she could not understand the concept of marriage and her answer was always No to everything.
She even spoke about working with her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali and said that she realized he was her uncle while watching Devdas when she was 18 years old. Sharmin expressed her admiration for him and also revealed that she assisted him on Bajirao Mastani sets. She said that her uncle Bhansali is a tireless worker and a mentor who showed her a different side of herself during the shoot of Heeramandi.
Talking about Heeramandi, the film stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal in main roles. Heeramandi is a period drama that showcases the lives of courtesans in Lahore.
