Akshay Kumar to play Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill in his next; fans say, “Shelve this movie”

MUMBAI : Akshay Kumar has given back-to-back four flops this year, Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and Ram Setu. The actor’s fans are not very happy with the films that he has been doing, plus he has opted out of Hera Pheri 3 which has made his fans more upset. 

Now, today, the actor on Twitter revealed that he will be seen playing the role of Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill in one of his upcoming movies. Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill was a mining engineer who saved several miners from a coal mine disaster in 1989. The movie is reportedly titled Capsule Gill.

While replying to Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Akshay tweeted, “Grateful to you @JoshiPralhad ji, for recalling India’s first coal mine rescue mission - this day 33yrs ago. मेरा सौभाग्य है किमैं #SardarJaswantSinghGill जी का किरदारअपनी फ़िल्म में निभा रहा हूँ. It’s a story like no other! @easterncoal.”

Well, his fans are trolling him for doing the film as they don’t want him to do a biopic and serious movies. A netizen tweeted, “Shelve this movie capsule gill this is great story but not as flim.” Check out the tweets below…

Akshay has multiple films lined up. Apart from Capsule Gill, the actor has Selfiee, OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2, Soorarai Pottru remake, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. While there have been reports of some of his films getting an OTT release, there’s no official announcement about it.
