Akshay Kumar teams up with Priyadarshan again

No doubt Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri was a turning-point in Akshay Kumar’s career .And never mind if their subsequent collaborations like De Dana Dan and Khatta Meetha didn’t quite match up. Priyadarshan and Akshay are all set to team up again this June with a film that would have a great social resonance. Says a source, “So far Priyan’s films with Akshay have all been time-pass comedies, and all of them have been remakes. This time Akshay has asked Priyan to do a film that has tremendous socio-political significance. Both Akshay and Priyan are done with remakes. So on Akshay’s request Priyan is writing an original film this time.” Priyadarshan confirms, “Yes, I am doing a hard-hitting subject with Akshay. I think we both need to move out of our comfort zones. My film this time with Akshay would be topical and original.” Priyan says it would be his comeback into Bollywood. “I am aware my recent films have not worked in Hindi. Akshay and I have done many hits Hera Pheri, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiya, among others. We are going to tap our collaborative chemistry in unexpected ways this time.”
