MUMBAI: The title of the much awaited movie of Akshay Kumar Laxmmi Bomb has been changed after reports surfaced that the makers had received a legal notice from Shri Rajput Karni Sena. The new title of the film is reported to be Laxmii. The film, directed by Raghava Lawrence, premieres on Disney+Hotstar on November 9. It stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. 

Taran Adarsh shared the news of Laxmmi Bomb title change on Twitter and wrote, "NEW DEVELOPMENT... #LaxmmiBomb title changed... New title: #Laxmii... Premieres 9 Nov 2020 on #DisneyPlusHotstarVIP... Stars #AkshayKumar and #KiaraAdvani (sic)."

A few days back, Akshay Kumar had shared a quirky video interview with Maniesh Paul in which he talked about his role in the film and said that it was the most mentally intensive characters that he has played till now. He also said that he was simply imitating the director in the film. Akshay Kumar said, “Mere career ko 30 saal hogaye hain. The character of Laxmmi has been the most mentally intensive role. But I managed it and I thank my director, Raghava Lawrence. He told me how the character of Laxmmi walks, talks and dances. In a way I have imitated him in the film. If the film works, it will be because of Lawrence." 

Akshay, who will be seen in the role of a man possessed by the spirit of a transgender in the film, further talked about the stigma attached to his role and said, “I am no expert in this topic. When I made Toilet and Padman, I got to know about some shocking facts and figures and we tried to create awareness, if not change. Similarly, in the case of transgenders, the problem in of acceptability. And I feel we have handled this topic with a lot of sensibility and sensitively. I hope the message we are trying to convey reaches the audience and they will have more understanding about gender equality.” 

Akshay Kumar, who is seen wearing a saree in the trailer of the film, said that it was the most ‘graceful outfit’ and everyone should try it once. In the same interview, he said, “Saree is the most graceful outfit in the world. Mere liye saree pehnna apne mei hi ek experience raha hai, sambhaalna bohot mushkil hai. Thanks to my designer, she was always there. Hats off to all women who manage in a saree. If you want to appreciate the process, everybody should try it once.”
