Always admired Nana Sir for his honesty and intensity on screen: Rohit Choudhary

MUMBAI: Gadar-2 actor Rohit Choudhary, who is co-producing and featuring in Anil Sharma’s next film, Vanvass, will be seen in the role of an NDRF officer in the movie. The movie also features Nana Patekar in a pivotal role, and the former is happy to have shared the screen with him.

He said, “I’ve always admired Nana Sir for his honesty and intensity on screen. Sharing the frame with him was an experience beyond acting—it was a daily masterclass. His presence is magnetic, and the depth he brings to every scene leaves you awestruck.”

“Observing him was a lesson in commitment, passion, and authenticity. Nana Sir’s ability to channel raw emotion is unparalleled, and his simplicity and humility off-screen are equally inspiring,” he added.

Rohit went on to say that Nana Patekar is not just a phenomenal actor but also a remarkable human being who “deeply connects with the world and strives to make a difference.”

“I still vividly recall one particular scene where his sheer intensity left everyone on set speechless. It wasn’t just acting; it was pure, unfiltered emotion, and witnessing that moment was transformative. Moments like those push you to evolve, not just as an artist but as a person,” he added.

He further said, “He loves cooking, and during our stay at the hotel while shooting, he used to cook for us. He once made paya soup, and it was absolutely delicious. Cooking and feeding people is something he genuinely enjoys. Almost every alternate day, he would prepare something or the other for us.”

Rohit remembers shooting in Shimla and how Nana Patekar rehearsed for a scene alone early in the morning. “While we were shooting in Shimla, where snowfall hadn’t occurred for two years, we had arranged for artificial snowfall for a scene. However, that night, it miraculously snowed for real. Nana woke up at 3:30 a.m., went out in the snow, and prepared the scene himself. He even rehearsed on his own for the scene we were to shoot the next day,” he said.

“Salute to such a dedicated actor who brings so much authenticity and passion to his work. He is incredibly natural and organic on-screen,” he added.

He even recalled kids visiting on the sets and Nana Patekar meeting them with great joy. “He has a great love for children, would always interact with them. Our younger co-stars, Utkarsh and Simran, were often motivated by him during the shoot. He would also give his inputs whenever something needed to be improved, showing his commitment to making every scene better,” he said.

Rohit also credited the captain of the ship, Anil Sharma, for being a true visionary and called it an incredible experience. “He has an exceptional talent for storytelling and an unmatched ability to bring out the best in his actors. His passion for the craft is infectious, and he creates an environment that encourages creativity and collaboration,” he said.

“Bringing this story to life alongside such legends has been a journey of growth and learning. I sincerely hope the audience connects with our performances as deeply as we connected with the characters and the narrative. For me, this project wasn’t just about acting—it was about immersing myself in a world of excellence and inspiration,” Rohit ended.
