Amitabh Bachchan refuses to comment on Narendra Modi's Prime Ministerial aspirations

That Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism board is no secret. Therefore, it was not very surprising to see him arrive as the chief guest at IAS officer Vipul Mittra’s book launch ‘The Dream Chasers.’ Vipul Mittra who is the Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Gujarat (Tourism, Civil Aviation & Pilgrimage) has had a long standing association with the mega-star which started way back when they worked together on a campaign for the welfare of tourism in Gujarat. So when the awesome twosome shared the podium yesterday for releasing Vipul’s book, one couldn’t resist but ask Amitabh what he thought about Narendra Modi’s Prime Ministerial aspirations. Amitabh who avoids discussions on politics like the plague tried his best to steer clear from expressing any opinion on the question. “I am not at all interested in politics. Who the next Prime Minister will be is a question that will be answered by the masses of this country. I wouldn’t like to comment. In fact, as journalists you all should know better than me,” said Amitabh. Now, that’s what we call a politically correct repartee. Earlier in the evening, while launching the book ‘The Dream Chasers’, Amitabh nostalgically reminisced about his youthful days. The book which talks about youthful dreams and optimism unbridled by reality, took Amitabh back to his college time when skies were pregnant with hopes of a better tomorrow. “It’s the memories from our college that remain etched in our minds forever. You may not remember what you did yesterday but you will certainly remember incidents from your college life like your favourite teacher, which restaurants you went to, which girlfriends you had. These are the special moments which make our life so wonderful,” shared Amitabh as the distinguished audience which included Vishal Bhardwaj and Piyush Pandey listened in rapt attention. ‘The Dream Chasers’ happens to be Vipul Mittra’s second book. The first one was the best-seller called 'Pyramid of Virgin Dreams'.
