MUMBAI: One of the most popular action-thrillers, Reacher has been loved through each season for its edge-of-the-seat drama, action-packed stunts, fantastic storyline and whistle-worthy performances; making the second season the most viewed release in 2023 on Prime Video and that it had received an early renewal for a fourth season. Anticipation was through the roof for the third season, leading to a smashing debut with a 100% rotten tomato score on its premiere. The massive popularity of the Reacher franchise is also owed to its lead actor Alan Ritchson, who has gained vast fandom for his excellent acting and choreographed stunts. Even author and EP Lee Child, on whose novel the series is based on, couldn’t stop gushing about the remarkable action displayed by the lead actor.
Bestselling author Lee Child went on to say, "If somebody asked me, ‘What am I happiest about?’ it is that casting decision. We knew it was critical, obviously. The title of the show is Reacher. It’s all about him, he carries it. He carries it on the screen but he also carries it off the screen because what people don’t see is that the lead actor sets the tone, he sets the bar for the rest of the cast and crew.”
While commenting if he had any role or suggestions for Alan, he continued, “I feel like I don’t want to give him advice and I don’t want him to ask for advice. What I’m hoping is that we cast him correctly and then it is up to him. It gives him, to be unquestioned, it gives him confidence to go ahead and give the right result. I think that if I was nagging at him all the time, ‘Do this, do that,’ I think it would destroy his confidence and make him a little nervous. So, my best role is to stay out of that.”
Based on the novels by Lee Child, Reacher is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. Reacher is written for television by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (FUBAR, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner. In addition to Santora and Child, Ritchson will serve as an executive producer, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge of the series for Skydance Television. Directed by Sam Hill and Gary Fleder, Reacher S3 stars Alan Ritchson, Maria Sten, Sonya Cassidy, Johnny Berchtold, Roberto Montesinos, Olivier Richters, Brian Tee, and Anthony Michael Hall in pivotal roles. The first three episodes are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video, with new episodes releasing weekly on Thursday, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada dubs.
