B-town celebs extend their support to Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh found himself at the end some venomous, vitriolic and unwanted criticism after India lost to Sri Lanka in the T20 World cup finals, yesterday night. The southpaw who scored a painstakingly slow 11 runs off 21 balls was singled out as the villain. Reportedly, fans even pelted stones at his residence in Punjab. All this irrational behavior irked Bollywood denizens, some of whom took to Twitter to express their support to the beleaguered cricketer. Here are some tweets from B-town celebs Actor Rahul Bose wrote: Believe Yuvraj's house pelted w/stones. Shameful. Every sportsperson gives off her/his best on the field. We all have good & bad days. Riteish Deshmukh who follows cricket keenly tweeted: Will always be proud of Yuvraj - he has given too much to Indian Cricket - including 2 worldcups - a true match winner Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar was enraged by the stone pelting episode and strongly denounced it: Who are these idiots who are pelting stones just because we lost a game? Have we forgotten it was Yuvraj who won us both d World Cups? Colors channel CEO Raj Nayak wrote: Recover soon my friend. The nation needs you. Singer Shaan tweeted: Yuvraj Singh is bigger than this Match!! He is a Hero beyond doubt!! We fans got carried away..but History of Cricket will celebrate Yuvi!! Fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar whose talent management agency, Bling handles Yuvraj wrote: Yuvraj had a bad day at the office. But there's no doubting his class n legacy. And the MANY great days he's had for Indian cricket. Tellychakkar.com too hopes Yuvraj will bounce back in style, soon enough.
