Bhaiyya Ji movie review: Manoj Bajpayee is emotional, 'Robinhood ka bap' when it's about his babu

Take a look at the movie review of Manoj Bajpayee’s Bhaiyya Ji which marks his 100th film in the Hindi film industry.
Bhaiyya Ji

MUMBAI: Movie- Bhaiyya Ji

Cast- Manoj Bajpayee, Vipin Sharma, Jatin Goswami, Akash Makhija, Zoya Hussain, Suvinder Pal Vicky, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam

Rating: 3/5

"Jab Bhaiyya Ji (Manoj Bajpayee) ki aankh upar uthti thi, badei bado ki neeche jhuk jaati thi. Robinhood ka baap hai" (When Bhaiyya Ji used to look, everyone used to look down and he is the father of Robinhood- subtle reference to Salman Khan's character- Chulbul Pandey). Well, these dialogues from Bhaiyya Ji may have made you realise that Manoj Bajpayee's movie is a dramatisation of events- has been written in the disclaimer. It is said that when a decent man leaves his decency behind, he creates utmost chaos. Manoj is shown to be decent for the decent people and bad for the evil folks. Bhaiyya Ji in a similar way has emotionally teary moments, with action and shocking scenes, which will make you close your eyes.

What is the story of Bhaiyya Ji?

The plot begins from Bihar where Bhaiyya Ji aka Ram Charan Tripathi stays. From cops, to goons they fear this name to the extent that they wet their pants. As the story progresses, Manoj's swag-filled Bihari personality is seen which will make you scream he is the 'Dabangg of Bihar'. Bhaiyya Ji lives for his family, and society; but he has to take Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva (The avatar of destruction). You may have seen stories of revenge but Bhaiyya Ji has the perfect Bihari touch, swag and mannerisms which makes it stand out. A lot of over-the-top action scenes make the narrative dramatic.

Acting chops:

Manoj perfectly fits into the saying, "Ek Bihari sab pe bhari". He is not like other heroes in Hindi cinema, who are donning six-pack abs to fight evil. He is simply dressed in a dhoti, versatile jacket, smoking beedi; doing all justice to Bhaiyya Ji. Bhagirathi Bai Kadam who plays Bhaiyya Ji's mom will take you to a meditative zone, and you will be able to relate to every scene of hers. Manoj's ladylove Zoya Hussain (Mitali) has done a perfect job as Manoj's lover and will blow your mind with her screen presence. Bhaiyya Ji and Mitali Bhabi's pair will win hearts because the chemistry that they share is inseparable. Suvinder Pal Vicky and Jatin Goswami have done brilliant roles playing negative characters.

First half is captivating; second half is dramatic:

Apoorv Singh Karki has directed the film. The songs are amazing, and rustic and will give you flavour of Bihar. The first item song Chakka Jaam Ho Jai will make you dance. Baagh Ke Kareja crooned by Manoj Tiwari will fill your soul with enthusiasm and strengthen the storyline. The background music will connect you with the film entirely.

Why to watch Bhaiyya Ji?

It is Manoj Bajpayee's 100th film and is a family entertainer, will give you goosebumps and make you believe in the concept of how good has to turn evil in this era of kalyug, to restore order, peace and sanity.
