MUMBAI : Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya is the third film in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe after Stree and Roohi. The expectations from the film are quite high as it is directed by Amar Kaushik who had also helmed Stree. The trailer and the songs have created a decent pre-release buzz. But, will the film be able to make a mark at the box office?

TellyChakkar spoke to producer and film business expert Girish Johar about Bhediya’s buzz and what could be the opening day collection of the film. When asked about the buzz, he told us, “The buzz is quite good. Varun Dhawan has a very good fan following and Kriti does as well. Amar Kaushik is a very good director and he has proved it in the past. They are going all out for the promotions.”

Further while talking about the opening of the film, Girish Johar stated, “I would be very happy if the opening is in double-digit; it could start with around Rs. 8-10 crore. Right now, we know the dynamics of the box office. If the people like the film, the collection can go to Rs. 10-12 crore, and if they don’t like it, the collection can go down as well.”

“The genre of the film will attract a young audience. So, it can get a good opening, and then it depends on word of mouth,” he added. 

Bhediya is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow (25th November 2022), and it will be interesting to see what opening the film will get.
