Cast opposite the legendary actor Govind Namdev ji: Shivangi Verma on her movie debut

MUMBAI: Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor actress Shivangi Verma is making her big screen debut soon, and she is quite excited about it. Without divulging much detail, she revealed that her co-star in the movie is Govind Namdev, and it is going to be a comedy movie.

She said, “It’s a very exciting new journey for me. They say that with every debut comes new challenges, and that’s true here as well. But at the same time, I’m having a blast. I love my role, my character, and everything about being on set. My goal is to make this experience memorable for my audience, and I’m giving it my all to achieve that.”

“Regarding my role, all I can say is that it’s very different from who I am in real life. It’s a comedy film, and I’m thrilled to share that I’m cast opposite the legendary actor Govind Namdev ji. He has been working since long before I was even  born, and I’m already a huge fan of his. All my scenes are with him, which makes this experience even more special. The story revolves around both of us, and I can promise that people will be rolling on the floor laughing after watching it,” she added.

The actress has played different roles in her career so far and shared that the decision to do films was quite simple, as this is an out-and-out comedy film. “I’ve played a prosthetic nurse, a forensic expert, a reporter, and even a negative character who was very vampish, which was quite challenging. This film, however, is pure comedy—full-on comedy. When I was reading the script, I couldn’t stop laughing. Just imagining how it would look on screen, with background music and all the edits, made me even more excited,” she said.

“It’s a completely different experience for me, and I’m thrilled about it. What motivated me even more was finding out that I’d be working with legends like Govind Namdev and Brijendra Kala, who are such respected and talented actors. My character revolves around his, and I’m playing the lead role, which is such a big responsibility and which motivated me a lot to take up this film,” she added.

Shivangi also shared that she did a workshop for the film, but it was not a typical one. “I gave an audition and a look test for the role, and since my character is very different from who I am in real life, I had to prepare myself mentally. I spent a lot of time with the team, the director, and the writer to truly understand the character. I received the script, including the screenplay and dialogue copy, about a month before the shoot,” she said.

“Even a week before stepping on set, I already had everything I needed to start preparing. This gave me a clear idea of what I was doing in the film, and it helped me get into the right mood and mindset for my role. I really worked on it to make it as authentic as possible,” she ended.
