MUMBAI : 90's kids will always relate to Punjabi music even though the lyrics are sad but the music is groovy. For many years now Punjabi songs have influenced the Hindi film industry and have created space in everyone's hearts. There is something about the songs that make you dance, all because of the beats, and tempo that add a sexy vibe to any family occasion. Have you ever paid good attention to the lyrics of a Punjabi track? Not all tracks but a song like Nira Ishq by Guri has uplifting music but the lyrics are sad.
Well, during an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar when Daler Mehndi's son Gurdeep was asked about why Punjabi tracks are filled with heartbreak he said, "Mera personal manna yeh hai ki joh Punjabi language hai apne aap mei na thodi si Hindi sei milti judti hai in comparison to other languages we have and usme kya hai ki samajne mei thodi aasani hoh jati hai. Yeh mera personal manna hai ki ess wajah se Punjabi language ko thoda plus point mila hoga. Rahi baat Punjabi music ki haina shuru se hi culture joh hai woh purana aur apne mei rich raha hai with full conviction. Dusri cheez yeh hai ki Punjabi joh gaane hoh ya bandha hoh woh mujhe lagta hai paida hi aise hota hai bekhauf, nidar; hamei khone ko kuch hai hi nai. Aur jab khone ko kuch hai hi nai, toh kiss baat se pareshan hoh ya kiss baat se aapko woh dar lagta hai. Why not give it a shot? Enme inbuilt rehata hai ki chal karke toh dekhte hai".
