With the elections in Delhi over, Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) candidate from the New Delhi constituency and veteran actor Biswajit will soon get back to acting when he would don the robe of a criminal lawyer in an upcoming Bengali suspense film.
“I am going to Kolkata to complete the pending work for a Bengali suspense film in which I am playing the central role of a criminal lawyer,” he said in a statement.
But before going back to the sets, the yesteryear leading man will campaign for TMC candidates in West Bengal where his party is going solo this time and facing a four-cornered battle in most of the 42 Lok Sabha seats.
What happens if he loses the election? The Mumbai-based actor is of the belief that if defeated he will take it in his stride and wouldn’t mind his loss as he believes he has “won the hearts” of the people.
The actor was a little unhappy that TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee did not turn up to canvass for him leaving the actor to fend for himself in the national capital. But he chose not to say much on the issue and gave a curt reply saying, “She was busy.”
In the New Delhi constituency, Biswajeet is pitted against Ajay Maken (Congress), Meenakshi Lekhi (BJP) and Ashish Khetan (AAP) among others.
