MUMBAI: Payal Ghosh played the role of a vamp named Radhika in Saath Nibhana Saathiya alongside Devoleena Bhattacharjee. The actress has accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. Recently, Payal took to Twitter to reveal about the same before her fans and followers while also tagging the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urging him to take action. This reignited the virtual #MeToo movement when Payal Ghosh alleged Kashyap of forcing himself upon her.
She tweeted, “@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!”
Apart from her debut in SNS as Radhika, she also made her Bollywood debut last year with Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi, which also starred late veteran star Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and comedian Vir Das. She also appeared in films like Prayanam, Oosaravelli and Mr Rascal.
Ghosh left her hometown to pursue her dream career of acting despite her parents’ reluctance regarding her decision.

She told ETimes, “I have wanted to speak about this for a long time. But today, finally I thought I must get it off my head. I had tweeted about my incident sometime ago when the #MeToo movement had happened, but many people told me to delete the tweet else I would stop getting work. My manager too advised me to remove the tweet. I complied. Post that, Anurag blocked me on WhatsApp.”
On the flipside, Anurag Kashyap denied her allegations by calling them baseless. The filmmaker reverse-accused Payal for dragging out his artists in the process of accusing him.
