As the release of Ek Thi Daayan is approaching fast, promotional activities of the film is also heating up. Firstly, co-producer Ekta Kapoor launched Ek Thhi Naayka, a TV show on Life OK for television that roped in television industry's top most actresses like Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Aamna Sharif, Mauli Ganguly, Shweta Tiwari, Kritika Kamra, Pooja Gaur and Ankita Lokhande coming together for the first time to promote Ekta's upcoming film Ek Thi Daayan. Secondly, Ekta took her lead pair Emraan Hashmi and Huma Qureshi to the Kumbh Mela to take a dip in the holy water to seek blessings for the film. Now, to take the promotions for Ek Thi Daayan a notch higher, Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta have come up with yet another innovative move of sorts. The two have launched a book called Daayan written by noted author Ved Prakash Sharma. Unlike routine coffee table books, Sharma's book will have real stories related to witches and supernatural powers. Sharma, who is among the best-selling authors of Hindi fiction of all time is the only author to own his publishing company and has written over 150 successful novels to date. Apart from the stories, it will also provide a gist of the film. Interestingly, in one of the episodes of Ek Thhi Naayka, Shweta Tiwari's character is even shown reading a Ved Prakash novel about daayans. By associating with Ved Prakash Sharma, the film's makers have clearly hinted at the incredible mass appeal of this keenly anticipated film.
