Sometimes it so happens when an actor excels in a particular character, he is asked to do the same in his next film. Similar is the case with Emraan Hashmi.
After playing a Maharashtrain con man in Raj Kumar Gupta's Ghanchakkar, the Dirty Picture actor is again set to portray a similar character in director Kunal Deshmukh’s next titled Shaatir. The film is also said to star Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role.
After the huge success of Kunal and Emraan's previous ventures, Emraan green lighted working with the filmmaker yet again.
Said Manish Hariprasad, Creative Director, Disney-UTV, “We are very excited with our next production which is now called Shaatir.
This will be Emraan's second film with us and we are looking forward to working with him on something he has not played before and he too is also excited about playing a character of a conman."
Trades circles say that the film's title Shaatir was earlier with Shree Ashtavinayak Films, but since UTV was keen on getting the title, they requested Kunal's good friend and filmmaker Rohit Shetty to ask the company to give it to them. Rohit, who has a good rapport with the production house having earlier worked with it for Golmaal, convinced the company that paved the way for Kunal got the title.
Added Hariprasad, "For the Kunal Deshmukh film starring Emraan Hashmi, UTV wanted the title Shaatir. But the same title was registered by Ashtavinayak. We mentioned it to Rohit Shetty. Rohit was extremely helpful, he immediately spoke to Ashtavinayak and helped us get the title from them.”
