In this age when money is being splurged on making big budget movies with the backing of film studios, here comes a movie made at a shoe string budget of Rs.10 lakh. The movie in question is titled Happy Journey and it’s a horror based movie made by a team of film students. Directed by Divyansh Pandit, the movie’s first look was unveiled by three Bollywood biggies yesterday namely Rajkumar Santoshi, Vashu Bhagnani and Vikram Bhatt.
The film stars Aadil Hussain Jaipuri who is the grandson of legendary lyricist Dr. Hasrat Jaipuri, Aditya Siddhu, Ashmita Jaggi, Arif Mukhtar, Divyansh Pandit, Priyanka Agarwal.
Talking about his debut venture, director Divyansh Pandit first disclosed that the budget of Happy Journey was a mere Ten Lakh Rupees and also expressed hope that this being not a regular commercial Bollywood project, the different shooting techniques employed in the movie would be appreciated by the audience.
On his part, Rajkumar Santoshi appreciated the hard work put in by the debutantes while film producer Vashu Bhagnani said, "The budget in which this film has been made, is usually spent by us on meetings and press conferences and events. Kudos to the team for making a movie in this budget." Director Vikram Bhatt too lauded the initiative taken to make a film of this genre and also added that the trailer was commendable and would love to see the entire film.
The movie showcases the life of a group of friends (Nakul, Archana, Shekhar, Rajjo, Kush and Ismail) all of whom embark on an adventurous journey to explore the top 3 haunted places in Maharashtra. Kush who is an aspiring film maker captures the entire journey on his camera and happens to record the disturbing supernatural activities that unfurl at these places. The plot takes a twist when the friends themselves become victims of the supernatural powers at work.
The movie is set to release in May, this year.
