Heeramandi actor Indresh Malik on shooting an intimate scene with Sonakshi Sinha: 'She had to grab my head with her legs; Her mother Poonam Sinha ji was also present...'

Heeramandi’s actor Indresh Malik shares his experience about shooting intimate scenes with Sonakshi Sinha in front of her mom Ponam Sinha.

MUMBAI: Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been receiving a huge amount of praise from all the fans and audience. Along with the star-studded cast, the amazing performance of Indresh Malik and Sonakshi Sinha received a thumbs-up from the audience. And now, 'Ustadji', Indresh Malik shared some unheard incidents from the shooting diaries of the series. He also talked about shooting intimate scenes with Sonakshi Sinha and Jason Shah.

In an interview, Indresh Malik shared unknown incidents about shooting an intimate sequence with Sonakshi Sinha. The actor shared that in one of the scenes, Sonakshi had to grab his head with her legs, and he was a bit shy and conscious about the scene, as the actress' mom, Poonam Sinha was present there on the set. Talking more about the same, Indresh shared that Sonakshi comforted him. Indresh said that the actress asked him not to be conscious and to be more relaxed. Sharing that he has some lovely memories from the film's set, Indresh mention:

‘During one scene, Sonakshi ji had to grab my head with her legs. Her mother Poonam Sinha ji was also present, which made me a bit self-conscious. However, Sonakshi reassured me. She told me not to be conscious, asked me to relax, made me comfortable, and said she will do the necessary. I have such lovely memories from the show’s set.’

In the same interview, the actor mentioned that when he got a call from the casting department, he said yes to the same, as the role of 'Utsadji' was made for him, which was full of challenges and difficulties. The actor shared how he was a bit conscious about shooting a scene that showed the closeness of one man to another.  Shooting an intimate scene with Jason,Indresh stated that he and Jason talked for an hour before the shot, and then they just went with the flow. He further mentioned the intimate scenes with Jason didn't need much retakes, which was satisfying for them, as the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, doesn't satisfy for less, as he is a perfectionist. Speaking along the same lines, Indresh said:

‘The scene didn’t need many retakes, which was satisfying because Sanjay sir doesn’t settle until he achieves what he wants. He’s such a perfectionist. Although I was nervous about the scene since it featured a man being close to another man, Jason and I discussed it beforehand for about an hour and then went with the flow.’

Indresh Malik played a supporting role in Heeramandi. However, his performance built a special place in the hearts of the audience. In an interview, Indresh mentioned that during a scene in Heeramandi, Sonakshi had to give him a nosepin to wear. 

Following the same, Indresh revealed that he had to cry in that scene, and even after it was over, he couldn't hold back his tears. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that it was after that when the director Sanjay himself came to him to hug him and gave him Rs. 500. Indresh revealed that it was a big thing for him as it felt like Sanjay was giving a blessing to him.
