MUMBAI: Janhvi Kapoor- Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak was the Marathi remake of Nagraj Manjule's Sairat. Both the stars in the movie won hearts as the plot showed the reality of the price that lovers have to pay when they are not of the same caste. Dhadak was directed by Shashank Khaitan and Janhvi as Parthavi in her debut showed the harsh picture of inter-caste marriage which is still existing in India. Even Ishaan as Madhukar did justice to the title of the story by being a young lover wild in love and can cross any limits.

Well, now Karan Johar is taking the Dhadak franchise ahead through the eyes of Tripti Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Dhadak 2 which will be directed by Shazia Iqbal and will be released on November 22, 2024. Siddhant and Tripti look madly in love with one another as they hold each other tightly. Even in the clip when Siddhant says, "Jo sapna tum dekh rahi ho Vidhi usme mere liye koi jagah nahi hai" (The dream that you have Vidhi, there is no place for me in it). Also when Tripti says, "Toh phir yeh bhi bata do Neelesh ki in feelings ka kya karun (Then let me know Neelesh, what should I do with my feelings)?” It is very relatable for anyone who is madly in love but cannot get married because of caste, family pressure or any other societal reasons.

Karan Johar had also written about the post by saying, "Yeh kahani hai thodi alag kyuki ek tha raja, ek thi raani, jaat alag thi, khatam kahani (This story is a little different because there was a king, there was a queen - their castes were different… end of story). This is the harsh reality existing yet in India and the Dhadak franchise is proof that everyone cannot have a happy ending in love.
