MUMBAI: Saturday, January 18th, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia : Indian Actor Hrithik Roshan was bestowed with an Honorary Award for Global Achievement and 25 years of Excellence in Cinema at Saudi Arabia's prestigious Joy Awards 2025. Celebrated American Filmmaker Mike Flanagan presented the award to Hrithik Roshan. Speaking about Hrithik, Mike Flanagan said, "Tonight we celebrate an artist whose versatility and passion have shaped cinema for over 2 decades. From groundbreaking performances to redefining what it means to be a star. He continues to inspire and surprise us with every role. His journey is a true testament to the power of re-invention."
Hrithik Roshan marks 25 years in the Indian Film Industry this year, the actor is celebrated for his versatile body of work, setting a precedent with his exceptional dancing and magnum opus onscreen presence. Over the years, Hrithik has managed to strike a balance between being an Actor and Superstar with films like Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya, Dhoom 2, Krrish, Jodhaa Akbar, Guzaarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara, Kaabil, Super 30 and War franchise.
Receiving the honor, Hrithik Roshan said, "Thank you Riyadh, Joy Awards and my thanks to the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for inviting me here from India. Thank you to your excellency for being the visionary that you are and creating this magnificent evening for all of us here. I'm humbled and grateful for this, and I'm so encouraged! Look at who I am with, me holding an award amidst the great legends here, this doesn’t make sense. It’s been 25 years, it seems like a long time, but unfortunately it's taken me 25 years to start understanding what acting really is and it’s just about now that I feel ready to take my flight as an actor. So, I take this as a symbol for the hope I have in my heart and the promise for the next 25 years."
In addition to Hrithik Roshan, the Global achievement and Honorary Award winners were American Actor and Filmmaker Morgan Freeman and American Actor Matthew McConaughey. The awardees are selected by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the award is regarded as the highest honor at the Award ceremony.
Hrithik was the only Indian Actor to be awarded at Riyadh's prestigious platform that celebrates global talent.
