I have plans to produce movies in Bollywood too - Riteish Deshmukh

Actor Riteish Deshmukh unveiled the brand new poster of his next Marathi home production ‘Yellow’, a movie he has co-produced with Uttung Hitendra Thakur, at a glittering ceremony yesterday night. Dressed in a jersey which had Yellow emblazoned in bold, a beaming Riteish looked confident about his second venture as a producer. Although reluctant to divulge any details about what the movie is all about, the actor-producer said that the film is extremely special in every way. “After this film, my relationship with the colour ‘yellow’ has become inspirational,” he said. When asked what made him accept the mantle of producing this movie, Riteish told us, “The story of Yellow and the entire train of thought that runs in the movie is truly is inspirational. It’s special in every way. I was attracted to the script and my decision to produce it was immediate." With his debut venture Balak Palak hitting the bull’s eye, Riteish feels there are only positives to take forward in Yellow. “I don’t think I committed any mistakes with Balak Palak. It was both critically and commercially acclaimed movie. We hope to probably grow on that,” explained Riteish. Elaborating on the marketing strategy to be adopted, Riteish said that every film has to be treated and promoted differently. “Every film is different and it warrants a promotion of a different kind. Balak Palak was a different movie. The short form was BP which is abbreviated form of blue film but Balak Palak was a movie for kids and parents. It was a U/A certified film that spoke about children wanting to watch an adult film. So we had pitched it differently. While this film is a special film which talks about special children. So we will have to market it in a different manner.” Even though Riteish’s name will bring in credible star power to his Marathi movie, the actor-producer firmly believes that content is the king. “I think one has to make good cinema irrespective of who makes it be it me, Shreyas Talpade or some other random person. It’s all about making a good story based film that will work well with audience. And people usually come to watch a movie because of its story. If the plot is good, it will help build you a certain reputation and it might help you get going with your future films.” Riteish also expressed his desire to produce movies in Bollywood too, soon. The actor who is currently busy shooting for Mohit Suri’s Villain said that the entire shooting experience of the movie was scary. “Scary just because it is Villain,” said Riteish before signing off with a smile.
