MUMBAI: Jacqueline Fernandez recently attended a conference as a panelist on the topic of ‘Achieving Fitness Goals Without Meat’. She spoke about her personal journey that led her to adopt a meatless lifestyle.
Jacqueline's exploration of a meatless diet stemmed from her desire to lead a more holistic lifestyle with mental clarity and less on aesthetics and conforming to beauty standards.
Speaking about how her journey began, Jacqueline said “I started reading about Paramahansa Yogananda Baba Ji, and I started following his teachings about how we need to be one with nature and we need to have a lot of mental clarity if we want to live a good life.”
She continued about her experience saying “And around new years 3 years ago, I went to his ashram in Madh Island, it was a tumultuous time for me as my mother suffered from a stroke around the same time and I couldn’t be with her in Bahrain. So, I decided that I really wanted to utilise this time and be at one with myself and send her a lot of energy. And then 1st Jan 2022, I decided that I'm never ever going to touch meat again!”
Jacqueline also shared her new approach to fitness "I think before it was more about aesthetics when I used to work out and I used to choose my diet and used to choose what I wanted to eat. It was more about- is this going to make me look better?" she explained. However, her meatless lifestyle has shifted her focus: "I think now when I approach my fitness regime it more about is balance, and yoga is my daily routine”
Jacqueline's journey not only sheds light on the personal motivations behind such a significant lifestyle change, but also serves as a powerful inspiration for others.
