MUMBAI: The SSR demise case is taking new twists and turns with every passing day. Recently, Rhea Chakraborty filed a petition at the Supreme Court to not transfer the case to the CBI but to let it remain with Mumbai Police.
The Supreme Court will announce its verdict anytime now, and all eyes are on the hearing.

Now, as per sources, the Maharashtra government are likely to oppose the transfer of the probe to CBI, citing federalism as their argument. On the other hand, Bihar government, according to sources, will counter this argument by citing that the only FIR filed in the case is in Bihar and the scope under Section 174 hints at limited scope of investigating the case in Mumbai.
