MUMBAI: Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles, Kabir Singh turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. The film managed to do well for itself; however, currently, it is making headlines for the wrong reasons.
Well, recently, the news of a Tik Tok star Ashwani Kumar murdering a flight attendant took the nation by storm and the reason behind this hideous crime was Kabir Singh. It is said that Ashwani, who is usually known for mimicking villains, was inspired by Kabir Singh’s one single dialogue, “Jo mera nahi ho saka use kisi aur ke honeka mauka nahi dunga” and this led to a murder. Apparently, Ashwani was obsessed with a flight attendant named Nikita Sharma and when he got to know that she is going to marry someone else, he murdered the girl. But before getting arrested by the cops, he committed suicide. However, now the news has reached to the director of the film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacted to the same and was quoted saying that he feels sorry for the girl and the family who had to go through this mishap. He told Mid-Day, “I feel sorry for the girl and her family. It is unfortunate that people have lost their lives.”
Reddy was also further quoted by the tabloid saying that his films do not endorse murder, not even Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. He said, “As filmmakers, we are responsible for our craft and need to consider the repercussions, but never have my films [endorsed] killing anyone. Kabir Singh or even Arjun Reddy [the Telugu original] never [supported] murder.”
