Many filmmakers have flayed Saif Ali Khan for calling Humshakals a mistake. Directors and producers are of the opinion that an actor should never disown a movie despite it failing at the box-office. Saif however broke the cardinal rule and faced a lot of flak for not standing by his flop.
However, his wife Kareena thinks that too much is being read into Saif's statement on Humshakals. Talking to Tellychakkar, Kareena said, "I think he tried to say that his fans didn't like or appreciate him in the movie. By saying that it was a mistake what he meant was that he did something different and it didn't work out well for him and he is not going to try that out again.”
Kareena also chose to clarify that Saif never disowned or blamed anyone else for the debacle of Humshakals. "I think too much is being read into it. All that Saif said was that he himself is responsible for doing this film. He meant that he took the film as he wanted to do something different and since it didn't work it was a mistake. And I think it's fine to have said that. But that is not read because that is not the headline," said Kareena.
Well, now that's spoken like a true Begum, someone who stands by her hubby no matter what.
