Kasoombo is adapted from Vimalkumar Dhami’s novel ‘Amar Balidan’. The movie is really well adapted by director Vijaygiri Bava. The cast of the movie includes Dharmendra Gohil as Dadu Barot, Raunaq Kamdar as Amar, Shraddha Dangar as Dadu Barot’s daughter Sujaan, Monal Gajjar as Roshan, Darshan Paandya as Alauddin Khilji. This historical drama has some of the finest actors who have done a great job of bringing their characters to life as their portrayals really leave a lasting effect. The cast also includes Chetan Dhanani, Feroz Irani, Jay Bhatt, and Kalpana Gagdekar who have really proved their potential.
When talking about the story, it is based on the sacrifices of the residents of Shetrunjay Hills in Gujarat. We can see how the people from that hill, belonging to warrior families, always fought to protect their land from Alauddin Khilji.
From the screenplay, direction, casting and the performances, everything is up to the mark. Yes, the VFX is also decent. Kasoombo is one of the finest Gujarati movie in its genre that is made with such a good budget and an engaging climax. The story truly tells us an unheard tale of Somnath and how Khilji used to treat people around. It will not be a surprise if we get to see a hype of this movie’s success soon.
Team Tellychakkar gives this movie 3.5/5.
