Women leaders can change the world: Shabana Azmi

Veteran actress and philanthropist Shabana Azmi, an active spokesperson for women empowerment, believes having women as leaders can bring about a change.

"Women leaders can change the world. When women have a seat at the table, they lend their unique perspective to policy decisions that impact them and their communities," Shabana said in a statement.

She appreciated 'Asmita-Woman', a programme to be hosted by the Foundation for Management Research and Training (FMRT) here on 30 September to recognise the power of women and also to bring together some women who have made the change happen in society just by thinking different and being independent.

Shabana said that providing a platform to the women who have done something different for society is a much-needed step that has been taken by FMRT.

"Creativity becomes capacity when it brings light into the life of others," said Jyoti Rana, Chairperson, FMRT.

Celebrated classical dancer Shovana Narayan will also be a part of the event.

Neharika Vohra, recipient of the Woman Achievers Award, said, "Women leaders should not be a topic for discussion in 21st century. However, given the shortage of women leaders across almost all sectors we need to figure out to have more of such leaders. Society, family, workplaces, all need to relook how they can support women to perform their best."

Former beauty queen Shivani Wazir Pasrich, hockey star Mamta Kharab and motivational speaker Rashmi Bansal will be some of the speakers among others.

The series, available in local languages in different markets, tells the tale of Sartaj, a seasoned and cynical Mumbai police officer who is summoned one morning by an anonymous tip which promises him an opportunity to capture the powerful Ganesh Gaitonde, criminal overlord of the G-Company.

Season 2 will be back with a new trail of betrayal, crime, passion, and a thrilling chase through Mumbai's underbelly.

The second season picks up from Sartaj pursuing his relentless battle of saving the city and Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) facing bigger challenges to retain his position as the legendary kingpin of Mumbai.

The intriguing Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), introduced in season one as Gaitonde's ‘third father', plays a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events that shape the next season, which is scheduled to film in India and locations overseas this fall.

Prakash Jha is identity of 'Sare Jahan Se Achha': Director

Director Prakash Bhardwaj, who is receiving positive response for his web series Sare Jahan Se Achha, has said that host Prakash Jha is the identity of the show.

"He has the image of a filmmaker who thinks and makes films about different aspects of society which is a big plus point for our show and I think he is the identity or USP of the show because if he wouldn't have been on our show then there wouldn't have any takers for it."

Talking about the show's concept, Bhardwaj said, "On the digital platform people prefer to watch content which entertains them butSare Jahan Se Achha talks about people whose work has not been recognised.

"In an atmosphere when there is so much negativity floating around us in the social media and news, we were in dire need of something that would make us proud of our fellow citizens. Their efforts that help us lead a better life. That is what this show is about.

The series showcases the lives of ordinary individuals who try to create a change in the society. It aims to recognise the extraordinary work done by these individuals and is an attempt to inculcate the spirit of giving back selflessly to the society.

"Most mothers around us pay extra attention to their child -- like a helicopter constantly on their head -- that's why we named the filmHelicopter Eela.
