Hollywood updates

MUMBAI: Here we bring you all the new and fresh news from Hollywood. Take a look-

Dolph Lundgren tired of group sex

Rocky IV actor Dolph Lundgren says he used to have group sex with supermodel Grace Jones and "four or five" other women but complained it was not always good as it left him too tired for work.

"That happened on occasions, with or without Grace. Sometimes she would bring a girlfriend home and then I'd have to get up for work the next day and that kind of thing. I'd say at the most it was four or five girls, perhaps," Lundgren told a leading publication.

He added, "It's great in theory but when you have to get up and fight Sylvester Stallone in the morning, it's not such a good thing."

The 60-year-old actor met Jones, 70, when he was hired as her bodyguard. But once he found fame after playing the notorious villain Ivan Drago in Rocky IV, their relationship quickly deteriorated.

He said, "I literally walked in the theatre (for the movie premiere) as her boyfriend with people trying to shoo me out of the way to take pictures of her and, 90 minutes later, when I walked out, people were trying to take pictures of me, instead.

"It was one of those things that happen once in a while in Hollywood, somebody totally unknown becomes famous overnight. Other women showed up, she got jealous and she couldn't handle it. People wanted me to go to openings. It was a lot of strain and, within six months, the relationship was over."

During their relationship, he admits drugs were rife in New York but he never joined Jones' "circle" in indulging in "heavy" substances.

Amber Heard looks back at tough time with Johnny Depp

Actress Amber Heard looked back at the time when she raised her voice about the physical and emotional abuse by her former husband and actor Johnny Depp all alone.

Female stars from Hollywood came together to commemorate a year since the #MeToo movement that shook the entertainment industry at the Incredible Women gala hosted by Porter Magazine on Tuesday, reports suggest so.

Heard read aloud from an open letter she had written for the publication in December of 2016, shortly after filing for divorce from Depp.

She alleged that the actor had physically and emotionally abused her, which Depp denied. She donated her entire divorce settlement to domestic violence and children's charities.

Before reading the letter, she told the crowd that she wrote it to her "silent sisters" because "at the time, my voice was alone, it was one that certainly felt alone".

"And Porter Magazine ran this open letter when it was perhaps most difficult, and for that reason I feel honoured to be here sharing this space with so many brave, powerful women, and I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciate it. Also, crazy how relevant these words are today, two and a half years later," she added.

Heard was one of several women who took their heels off while performing on stage, as a statement of solidarity.

Depp is known for films like Sleepy Hollow, Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and Murder on the Orient Express, which will air in India on Star Movies Select HD on Saturday.

Chris Hemsworth's solo selfish mission

Actor Chris Hemsworth says he "selfishly" asked his wife and actress Elsa Pataky and children not to visit him so he could focus on work.

In an interview to GQ Australia, Hemsworth said he asked his family not to visit him for three-and-a-half weeks while he was working on Bad Times at the El Royale, reports suggest so.

The 35-year-old shares three children -- daughter India, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan -- with Pataky.

"Normally I come away with my family," he said, when asked about balancing work and family life.

"We arrive in a city. I rush off to work, do my prep. Rush home, kids, family, my wife. Next morning, up again, trying to fit in some training. Rush home, feed the kids," he said.

This pattern changed when it came to filming Bad Times at the El Royale.

"Elsa ended up having a job at the same time, so it was fine but I actively chose to have it be a solo mission. It allowed me to selfishly focus just on this character," he explained.

"I would wake up and think, 'I can actually go to work and think about the character', and then I would come home and think about the character then, too. I just hadn't been able to go to that place for a while," the actor added.

Hemsworth is best known for his superhero avatar as Thor. The third instalment of the Thor franchise Thor: Ragnarok was a success in India and globally. The film will make its first Indian television premiere on 28 October on Star Movies.

Kim beefs up security as she steps out in diamonds

Ever since being held at gunpoint and robbed of approximately $10 million worth of jewellery during Paris Fashion Week two years ago, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has avoided wearing extravagant pieces in public. However, the star decided to make an exception when she attended the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection here.

The 37-year-old accessorised a daring low-back dress with statement diamond pieces from Tiffany & Co., including multiple rings and a diamond choker.

But she made sure to point out on her social media that the expensive pieces were not hers and she had beefed up her security detail for the event, reports suggest so.

"Look at these jewels I get to borrow for the night - I have security with me and they (the jewels) leave me after the night," Kim told her fans on her Instagram Stories as she was driving to the event, adding, "I turn into Cinderella."

She attended the annual event with her mother Kris Jenner.

Kim, a mother of three, wore a skin-baring, curve-hugging, off-white coloured Jersey knit gown featuring an open back and stomach cutouts.

Ever since her 2016 robbery, where she was held at gunpoint by a gang of men who stole jewellery, including a $4 million diamond ring, from her, Kim no longer keeps jewellery in the house.

Tiffany Haddish asks for 'the guy fee'

Actress Tiffany Haddish thinks the reason women sometimes are not paid equally to men is because they don't ask how much their co-workers are making and she always asks for "the guy fee".

Haddish always "does the research" when considering a job and thinks a lot of the time women are too afraid to ask for a higher fee as they are unsure about how much they could be making.

"You know what they say? A close mouth don't get fed, and a lot of times we don't open our mouths because we don't even really know what we're supposed to get," Haddish told a leading publication.

"That's why I do the research. I ask around. I've made friends with line producers that cut those cheques, production managers, so I can be like, 'So, on average, how much does a girl get paid for? How much does a guy get paid?' OK, I'm gonna ask for the guy fee on this one," she added.

The 38-year-old actress says there needs to be more discussion between actors and actresses about salaries and "perks" and joked she put weight on after actress Kate Hudson showed her she could request certain food in her dressing room.

"I think the reason why, a lot of times, we don't get paid the same as men do is because we don't talk about it. I think we do need to talk about it because I sure get in there and I'm like, 'Hey, Kate Hudson. How much do they pay you for that? What kind of perks do you get for that?'

"I didn't know they could fill your room up with whatever kind of food you want. That's why I gained so much weight, because she told me about all the food you can get. I'm like, you can bring me some tacos and I want an In-N-Out burger," she said.

Camila Cabello inspired by Kobe Bryant

Singer Camila Cabello says her American Music Awards (AMAs) performance was inspired by basketball player Kobe Bryant.

"I was watching Kobe Bryant's documentary. And he just talks about how he keeps the hard times or any struggle or anything like that at the top of his head when he is going to do something really important, and I was just thinking about all the hard times and the road to getting to this moment, and I just thought of the struggles," Cabello told a leading publication.

"I was just thinking about that during the performance. Any doubts that I've had, either from me or from other people...I tried to just kind of have that push me through this," she added.

Cabello took home the New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Video of the Year and Favourite Song - Pop/Rock for "Havana" at the AMAs.

She was happy that, for once, she was able to forget about her nerves and take the time to enjoy her success and appreciate the efforts she had put into doing so well.

"I think these moments are when you're like, 'You know what? Enjoy this moment. Own this moment. You've worked for it, you're here'. And sometimes it's hard to do that because you get nervous, but today I was like, 'You know what? Just enjoy this moment, because you've fought so hard to get to this moment.'"

Emily Blunt sends out powerful message for girls

For the International Day of the Girl Child, which is on Thursday, Disney has launched a global video series offering advice and inspiration on achieving success for the next generation of leaders around the globe.

The #DreamBigPrincess video series, produced and directed by young women from the UN Foundation's Girl Up initiative, shares the stories of 20 trailblazing women across technology, entertainment, medicine, law, sports, arts, science, fashion and politics to show the next generation what is possible if you dream big, read a statement.

"There's a line in 'Mary Poppins', where she says anything is possible, even the impossible. I think that really symbolizes what dreaming big is all about, the idea if you want something big enough that the universe is going to conspire to give it to you," said Blunt.

"Dreaming big is one of the most important things any of us can do - to keep aiming higher," says Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, who was interviewed for the series by Maud Webster, age 16, from the UK.

"The #DreamBigPrincess series is giving voice to a group of talented young women, helping them tell stories that kids can learn from, whatever their ambition."

Each video will be shared across Disney's global media platforms as part of a campaign to unlock up to a $1 million donation to Girl Up, an initiative of the UN Foundation to support girls' leadership.

Spanning a host of professions, accomplished women share their tips for success in the 20-part series.

Some of the names apart from Blunt and Kennedy are Asmaa Boujibar, Ashima Narain, Blanca Treviño, Celina Caesar-Chavannes, Jennifer Lee, Karen Walker and Martina Stoessel.

Through Disney's collaboration with Girl Up, the #DreamBigPrincess campaign aims to make a tangible difference for girls who face challenges in achieving their dreams. The initiative will run until 20 November.
