MUMBAI: Yuktam Khosla made his Bollywood debut with the recently released Loveyapa, starring alongside Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan. Reflecting on his first film, he shared a humorous incident from the shoot that caught everyone by surprise.
“Everyone was so warm and welcoming. My first scene was with Khushi Kapoor—a reel on Dil Ka Telephone. I remember Rajesh Sir, our DOP, laughing because everyone knew I was Advait Chandan’s cousin and that this was my debut. I don’t know what they expected, but filming felt effortless. I was constantly smiling, unable to believe it was really happening. Even though my role is small, this has been a dream come true, and I have so much more to offer,” he said.
An Unexpectedly Dramatic Rehearsal
Recalling a particularly amusing moment, Yuktam shared, “Advait called me for a rehearsal with Khushi and Junaid. I had a scene expressing my feelings to Khushi, which was meant to be just a script reading. But I decided to go all in. I set the script aside, got down on one knee, and performed the entire scene with full drama. The DOP instinctively picked up his camera and started framing, while Advait began directing right there! I even pulled out a rose. It was hilarious—everyone was taken aback, and I have no idea what Khushi thought since we had just met!”
With Loveyapa now in cinemas, both audiences and critics are praising Yuktam for his screen presence and emotional depth. As he enjoys the film’s success, he is preparing for his next projects—a web series where he plays a shy Delhi boy, set for an Amazon Prime release in 2026, and a quirky short film as a Gujarati character, directed by debutant Mukesh Manjunath.
With an exciting journey ahead, Yuktam Khosla is certainly a rising talent to watch!
