MUMBAI: Beloved television star Dipika Kakar, known for her immense popularity and heartfelt performances, has revealed a deeply personal and emotional health update that has left fans in shock.
A few weeks ago, Dipika was admitted to hospital after experiencing severe discomfort in the upper abdomen. Following a series of medical examinations, doctors discovered a tumour the size of a tennis ball in her liver. Further diagnostic tests confirmed the tumour to be malignant, with the actress being diagnosed with Stage Two liver cancer.
Dipika and her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, took to social media to share this heart-breaking news with their fans and well-wishers. In a heartfelt message posted on her Instagram, Dipika wrote:
“As many of you know, the past few weeks have been extremely challenging for us. What started as abdominal pain led to the discovery of a tennis ball-sized tumour in my liver. After several tests, we were devastated to learn it is a Stage Two malignant tumour. This has undoubtedly been one of the most difficult phases of our lives. However, I remain positive and determined to overcome this — InshaAllah. With my family’s unwavering support and the love and prayers pouring in from all of you, I’m confident I will get through this. Please keep me in your prayers. Lots of love, Dipika.”

In a recent vlog, Shoaib further updated fans, explaining that surgery has been temporarily postponed as Dipika is currently unwell with a cold and cough. Doctors have advised waiting until she recovers from the infection before proceeding with the operation.
Encouragingly, the couple shared that the cancer has not spread beyond the tumour, and once the mass is surgically removed, Dipika’s prognosis looks positive. Doctors remain optimistic about her full recovery.
