Generally small-budget films don’t get a good opening or fail to see the big screen because by the time the film is ready there is not enough fund left for promotion. Or sometimes the distributor puts his hands up fearing losses at the box office.
A similar thing has happened to Karan Raj Kanwar, the producer-director of Lucky Kabootar that was to open last Friday.
According to reports the presenter of the film Dhananjay Films did not book the theatres because there was no money to release the film. And what made matter worse was that the producers came to know about this just an hour before the film was to be premiered.
A source adds that the film had not got good show timings which is generally the case. Moreover it has also come to light that the presenter and the distributors had a fall-out as a result of which the film could not be released.
May we remind our readers that the producer, son of noted producer director Raj Kanwar, made the film in his efforts to revive his late father's banner Inderjit Films Combine.
It is also heard that the producer is using all strings to see that his film starring Eijaaz Khan and Kulraj Randhawa sees the light of the day soon.
