Manoj Bajpayee opens up about struggles to keep his daughter Ava connected to her roots; Says ‘Puri angrez hai who…’

MUMBAI: Manoj Bajpayee has experienced highs and lows in his lengthy career in Hindi cinema. It appears that the actor is finally receiving the recognition he deserves based on recent roles. The actor is renowned for his ability to cleverly deliver Hindi lines in particular.

However, it appears that in this way his daughter contrasts greatly with him. To her father's amazement and happiness, she seems to be actively honing her Hindi dialect; he used to call her "angrez".

When questioned about his daughter Ava's life recently in an interview with Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa's Bharti TV, the Joram actor said, "Because my daughter is now getting good marks in Hindi and slowly her Hindi is improving. Because she wasn’t speaking Hindi in school, and even if we don’t speak, then there will be a problem. Phir toh woh Tayor Swift hi sunegi."

Manoj previously disclosed to Janice Sequeira that Ava's Hindi teacher was dissatisfied with her performance, believing that given her father's career, Ava should have been better versed in the language. Ava began watching daily soaps on television. 

He said, “Puri angrez hai woh. Usse daant padti rehti hai phir bhi nahi bolti woh (She’s a foreigner. She gets scolded about this, but she doesn’t improve).

Recently, Manoj Bajpayee celebrated his 30 years in Bollywood. At the Tagore Center at the Indian Embassy in Berlin, he received a tribute. The event also celebrated Bajpayee's film The Fable being chosen for the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival.

He recently starred in Silence 2 and is getting ready for Bhaiyya Ji, his upcoming film. Following Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, the upcoming movie reunites Manoj and filmmaker Apoorv Singh Karki in a potent partnership. The release date of Bhaiyya Ji is set for May 24.

After two successful seasons, the actor is also looking forward to season 3 of The Family Man. The series won praise from critics for having a realistic and thought-provoking plot which Raj and DK created.
