MUMBAI : Actress Mrunal Thakur, known for her remarkable performances in various projects like Sita Ramam and Lust Stories, is currently gaining acclaim for her role in Hi Nanna. However, she recently revealed facing body shaming and derogatory remarks about her appearance.
In a candid interview with Indian Express, Mrunal shared an incident from an audition where she was subjected to body shaming. She recounted how a photographer initially dismissed her as a "village girl" before apologizing later. Despite such encounters, Mrunal emphasized her confidence in her team's ability to transform her appearance for different roles.
Addressing the notion of "sexy," Mrunal expressed her belief that confidence and comfort with oneself are paramount. She humorously mentioned feeling sexy even with "dead skin of her toe," highlighting the subjective nature of attractiveness.
Mrunal also discussed instances where she was advised to lose weight for certain roles but stood firm in embracing her body as it is. She asserted her ownership of her physique, particularly her "thick thighs," and refused to conform to unrealistic standards imposed by others.
Looking ahead, Mrunal Thakur is set to star in the upcoming film Family Star alongside Vijay Deverakonda, Divyansha Kaushik, and Ajay Ghosh, among others. Directed by Parasuram Petla and co-produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, the movie is slated for release on April 5th.
