MUMBAI : For the second time after Lust Stories, real-life friends Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, and Neha Dhupia are together on Bad Newz. Neha also had a great time on the set, despite having little screen time in the movie.
Speaking with the well-known news website, she says,“I got to see a lot of Vicky but not too much of Karan. He came to the set only on the first day of shoot. He’s one of the producers but he also lets everybody play the field. On this set, either everyone was a friend like Amrit (Amritpal Singh Bindra; producer), Anand (Tiwari; director) and Apurva (Mehta; producer) or we became friends.”

Neha said that shooting the film also meant many lunches. Making a revelation, she says, “Every meal became a ceremony. The biggest foodie on set has to be a close one between Vicky and Triptii. This one time, we were shooting in Purani Delhi and Vicky was craving for the most authentic food from there. And when I saw that spread, I was worried for myself. It had tons of options of Indian food. It was all very delicious but very spicy and greasy too. Everyone relished it. You could get the fragrance of the food till the end of that corridor.”
As for Triptii, she became the local food guide when they were shooting in the hills up north. “She has interesting choices when it comes to food. When we were shooting in Shimla, Triptii would find some interesting spots. She would tell me where the best momos waali aunty would sit and I would then take my car and go there,” adds Neha.
Neha and her husband Angad Bedi often take to social media and share pictures of their get-togethers with Vicky and Katrina Kaif. Being a blend of Punjabi and British, one would assume the Kaushal-Kaif household to be all about fusion food. Neha agrees to the same and shares that it’s Katrina who always takes on the role of a host when it comes to dinners and lunches.
“The food is always whatever Katrina wants because she’s the one who’s the party planner and she does a great job. And when somebody is as good as that, you don’t interfere. Everyone is taken care of. There’s a vegan counter, there’s spicy food and non-spicy food. It’s always a huge spread! Whatever anyone wants, they’ll find it there. Meals are long and stretched and they’re always so much fun. They’re just like family,” states Neha.
Her relationship with Katrina goes back a long way because, in addition to modelling, they collaborated on two films, Singh Is Kinng and De Dana Dan.
She praised Katrina Kaif, “I’m very fond of her. My heart lights up when I see that girl. She’s a rare find. She’s as nice as hardworking and disciplined. She goes out of her way to be interested in everyone’s issues because she genuinely cares for people. You can’t cultivate a friendship with everyone but the ones you choose to be friends with like Katrina and Vicky are fantastic people.”
