MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot in a civil ceremony in front of their loved ones on June 23, Sunday. When the newlyweds gave their first lavish party that evening, Zaheer made sure to make his bride blush by grooving with her on the dance floor.
Sonakshi and Zaheer can be seen enjoying their first dance together as husband and wife to the song "Afreen Afreen" in several pictures and videos from their reception that have since gone viral. The guests were cheering as the newlyweds danced in each other's arms, and Zaheer drew his bride close, causing the actress to blush and cover her face.
Sonakshi looked like a very happy bride in her stunning red Banarasi saree with Zaheer wearing an ivory sherwani. Just as the Heeramandi actress had hoped, the two danced the night away with their loved ones, unable to take their eyes off each other.
The duo was also spotted dancing with Anil Kapoor and Kajol to the beats of the dhol. Furthermore, Sonakshi's closest friend Honey Singh took charge of the music during the celebration, which lasted till the early hours of the morning, and had everyone in the room engaged in dancing.
On Sunday, Sonakshi and Zaheer got married in the presence of their families in a civil ceremony held according to the Special Marriage Act. "On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife," they wrote.
Salman Khan, Vidya Balan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Rekha, and Tabu were a few of the other attendees at the reception party.
