As per reports late star Rishi Kapoor expressed his desire to star in the remake of a Gujarati film, Chaal Jeevi Laiye along with Ranbir Kapoor.

MUMBAI: Bollywood lost its biggest gem in 2020, the demise of actor Rishi Kapoor was an irreplaceable loss. Late actor Rishi Kapoor had expressed his desire to work in the remake of a Gujarati film along with his son Ranbir Kapoor. As per reports in Bollywood Hungama Gujarati film titled Chaal Jeevi Laiye’s producers gave out the deets of the late legendary actor’s wish to star in its remake. A source had shared that the actor loved the film and had also convinced Ranbir to star in it along with him. However, this wish of the actor remained unfulfilled with his sad demise. Ritesh Laalan, CEO of the production company in conversation with the portal shared their plans to cast Rishi and Ranbir and revealed that they had also commenced the talks for the same with the veteran actor in the month of March, however, the film went on a back burner due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown imposed due to the outbreak. He said, “Yes, we were planning to cast Rishi sir and Ranbir Kapoor in the Hindi remake. We initiated talks with Rishi’s manager in March, just before the lockdown. But everything went on a backburner due to the pandemic.” Followed by the actor's sad demise in April, thus keeping his wish unfulfilled, “And then sadly, Rishi sir passed away.” He also added, that till then they had not initiated any talks with Ranbir Kapoor.

Ritesh was also sure that the remake would have struck the chord with the audience’s as Chaal Jeevi Laiye is a story about a father-son duo. “It would have been a great casting coup. Viewers would have surely connected with the casting and the storyline more so when they would have seen both of them playing father and son. Not just viewers, even Rishi sir and Ranbir would have also been able to relate with the storyline,” he added.
